Ahuntsic Park

Ahuntsic-Cartierville borough, Montreal

At Techsport, when we design a playground, our goal goes far beyond mere accessibility. We aim for inclusivity, ensuring that all children, regardless of their abilities, can participate and enjoy play equally. Our Ahuntsic Park project is a flagship of this philosophy, illustrating our commitment to creating truly inclusive spaces.

This park has been specially designed to promote inclusivity at all levels. For example, a hillside slide has been installed to facilitate access compared to traditional stairs and climbers, allowing children with reduced mobility to fully enjoy this activity. Access ramps surround the play module, ensuring that every child can move freely and safely. Basket swing seats provide additional support, allowing all children, including those with special needs, to swing comfortably and safely.

The play module is also equipped with a multitude of sensory games spread across its entire surface. These games are designed to encourage quieter and more intellectual play, offering varied sensory stimulations that can be particularly beneficial for children with specific sensory needs. These inclusive elements are just a handful of examples of the many features designed to make this park accessible and enjoyable for everyone.

Inclusivity is not limited to playgrounds; it applies to all our public spaces. It is essential to think about including and accommodating all park users, whatever their needs may be. In addition to the play equipment, we have also provided Shade Systems canopies to protect park visitors from long hours spent in the sun, offering shaded areas where parents can comfortably watch their children.

In summary, the Ahuntsic Park project is a shining example of our commitment to inclusivity and accessibility. Every element, from the hillside slide to the access ramps and sensory games, has been carefully chosen to create a welcoming and stimulating environment for all children. At Techsport, we are proud of our ability to transform public spaces into places where everyone can feel included and valued.
